Scotland These are scans of some of the pictures that we took during our trip to Scotland in 1999, before the age of digital cameras! I ran across this handful when I was cleaning my office, and though y'all would enjoy them. My husband looks exactly the same now as he did then, beard and all. I, however, no longer have shoulder length hair! I whacked it off a couple years ago with no regrets. Keeping the incessant wind from tying it into knots was a constant challenge on this trip. Enjoy the pictures!
Round tower and roses at Abbottsford House, home of writer Sir Walter Scott. This is an absolutely majestic house, situated on the banks of the River Tweed.
A couple of re-enactors at Culloden Battlefield let me play with their toys. David MacDonald, the one holding the sgian dhu to my throat, is a sweet man whose lovely wife swapped joint replacement stories with me.
Edinburgh Castle
Me at the Greyfriar's Bobby monument. See the hair? LOL
Edinburgh, on a hill overlooking Holyrood House. Wanna know something that's sad? I still have that green sweatshirt! LOL
A garden. I think this was at Cawdor Castle.
Another beautiful Scottish garden.
A public garden in Kingussie, Scotland. This picture was taken from the window of our room at the B&B we stayed in. Kingussie is in my ancestral stomping grounds.
'Tis kye!!! My husband pulled off the road and leaned way over a fence to get this picture.
Lady Glassary standing stones, Kilmartin Glen.
Templewood stone circle, Kilmartin Glen.
Loch Katrine. A very atmospheric place with its damp, misty rain. The rain didn't bug me, but the bugs sure did. If you stood still for more than 5 seconds, the midges found you. Midges are microscopic gnats with alligator-force bites that could well and truly drive you mad!
Stones and heather at Loch Katrine.
Sign welcoming visitors to my ancestral home town, heart of MacPherson country.
Some scenery near my ancestral home villlage of Newtonmore.
Spey River valley, my ancestral stomping grounds.
Melrose Abbey, burial place of the heart of Robert the Bruce.
My husband Rick at
